Shelly Todd, spa owner and teacher, is an award winning esthetican certified in Oregon, Georgia and N. Carolina. She is certified in and has taken courses in: Oncology Esthetics, Hungarian Massage Techniques, LED Light Therapy, Jade calm skin therapy, Melasma causes/treatments and other forms of hyperpigmentation, the toxicology of cosmetic ingredients, Microdermabrasion, Microneedling, Laser IPL and injectables, dermaplaning, Skin Cancer types and treatment (both from research and personal experiences of Melanoma), Skin Classic High Frequency and has done extensive research on skin conditions like Rosacea, Melasma, Eczema, Dermatitis, Acne and is aware of and is constantly learning more about medication reaction skin conditions. She is an Oregon Health and Science University “SkinCrew” member to support the war on melanoma and is abreast of skin conditions linked to auto-immune disease medications like methotrexate and other anti-cancer drugs and knows how to avoid lymph-edema through altered massage techniques and lighter skin care treatment. She keeps her knowledge fresh and educates her clients and will refer clients to a dermatologist if she sees a spot that is suspicious. A monthly facial with Shelly is a great way to keep record of changes in your facial skin, sooth current and chronic skin conditions and her treatments feel amazing! At J Renee Spa, you will get a knowledgeable skin care professional who cares about natural treatment and gentle solutions for your skin and your specific needs all while being extremely relaxed. Shelly has a tender touch and each movement is done quietly and slowly allowing her clients to fully unwind and enjoy the tranquil environment.
Shelly started her first spa, Revive Skin Services, in 2012 and went on to open 3 locations in Oregon. In 2021 she moved to the Atlanta area of Georgia and started another spa in Adairsville, GA called J Renee Spa. In 2023, Shelly was then licensed in North Carolina as well. She travels to her multiple locations to offer facials, microdermabrasion, microneedling, LED Light Therapy and Skin Classic Treatments.
In 2012, Shelly began to research product lines to carry products that even the most sensitive clients can use. She, herself, suffers from an immune condition (MCAS) that makes her suffer many episodes of allergic rashes, acne and other skin problems and allergic episodes. Because she couldn’t find a brand that checked all of her boxes (organic, gentle but effective, natural light scent, good for the planet, reef safe, not animal tested, vegan...), she created her own line in 2013 called J Renee Organics. Since creating the product line, Shelly has been able to offer EVERYONE skin treatments and products that help their skin, no matter their health issues, medication use or sensitivity level.
In 2023 Shelly went on to create SkinKin.org, a portal for estheticians to learn, download forms, share social media posts and memes and provide a community for estheticians to ask questions, share research and help each other out.

“I’m in my 40s, very happily married, have 4 beautiful pitties and a big fluffy kitty that make my life joyful. I love to travel, see other cultures and listen to people and their stories. I grew up near Portland, Oregon and moved south to Southern California in my late teens for fun and college, then back to Oregon in my late 20s after a cancer diagnosis to be closer to family. I moved to Georgia in 2021, seeking out a warmer environment and my husband and I couldn’t be happier where we now live in Canton, GA.
Unfortunately, I have suffered with a genetic disorder my entire life that makes me allergic and sensitive to many things as well as prone to certain types of cancer (MCAS & Ehlers Danlos Syndrome). While living in Southern California in my 20s, I received two melanoma diagnoses that changed my perspective on life. When I got licensed to treat people’s skin, I wanted to focus on services and products that would make their skin healthy as well as beautiful. In my research for the perfect product line, I was left wanting, so I created my own line so that anyone, no matter their health, can use them AND reach their skin goals without unwanted chemicals or side effects.
I love science and require proof that a service, a machine or a product works without harming the skin, animals, babies, mothers or the planet. I absolutely love the results that my clients achieve and how my own skin looks with J Renee Organic Products and my skin treatment methods, theories and modalities.”
